Nemiga "unlikely" to attend Minor due to visa issues

Nemiga's hopes of attending the CIS Minor Championship are looking slim after the players were denied visas to enter the United Kingdom.

In a statement released on VK and Twitter, Nemiga explained that their only hope is that FACEIT manages to convince the British embassy to review the visa decision.

Nemiga could miss out on the Minor due to visa issues

The news comes as a huge blow for the Belarusian team, who earned a spot at the Minor after finishing 3rd-5th in the closed qualifier, with a 3-1 record.

"FACEIT is working on it, and we are crossing our fingers," Nemiga wrote. "But it is unlikely that we will attend the Minor, which means that six months of work will go to waste."

Contacted by HLTV.org, Roald van Buuren, FACEIT's Director of Esports, stressed that the company is "investigating ways to help Nemiga to overturn the decision" and admitted to being "incredibly disappointed" with the decision from the British embassy.

"For the Minors and Major, we've been working closely with teams to provide documentation for each player to make the application process as quick and smooth as possible," he noted.

The CIS Minor will run from July 10-13 at the Twickenham Stadium, in London, with two spots in the FACEIT Major London's New Challenger Stage on the line. The team list for the event looks as follows:
